"All tha...

"All that is of the nature to arise is of the nature to cease."I've had that quote stuck in my head for several days now. Good to meditate on.I'm annoyed that I've wasted most of the evening skulking about LJ... so I've gotten off of the keyboard (well, momentarily anyway) and put aside "Bel Canto," which is a great book by Ann Patchett to look again at "The Complete Works of Lao Tzu." I'm stuck on this line from "The Universal Way" which opens the book: The Subtle Essence that is sought by all sciences and all religions transcends all attempts to reach it by means of thought, belief, or experiment. So then the Great Work could also be conceptualized as the Universal Way, no?

I believe it could be, yes. It is so nice that you and dustinashe are on a spiritual quest together. I wish this was something I could share with Andrew. Although a spiritual journey is a very individual thing, it is nice to have someone to discuss your thoughts with. I really do admire the two of you and the relationship you have together.

Thank you very much! I wouldn't say, though, that we are really on a quest together so much as we both happen to be questing at the same time in somewhat complementary ways... While dustin is going the way of straight Buddhism (Zen and Pure Land) at this time, I'm still declaring myself to be undeclared. I don't believe that any one group has all the answers, and as is so well put in Liber Librae: "in the true religion there is no sect..." Mostly, I look at Buddhist and Thelemic stuff when I have the time. How is your journey going? Do I correctly recall a recent question of path/direction or am I completely out of my mind (again)?Miekke

Luckily, I seem to have snapped out of it and can now do math again...Now that I know what they're really all about, the Lollypop Kids scare me too!
